The short answer
Book a pool experience if you want to swim and spend time by the water. Book an observation deck if you want a sightseeing visit with a view. In Dubai, two attractions can share a tower and still require separate bookings.
AURA SKYPOOL and The View at The Palm are a useful example. The View's Level 52 entry is an observation-deck ticket. It does not list AURA pool access. Decide which afternoon you want before choosing a ticket with an attractive skyline photograph.

The useful comparison is the whole experience: what you can do, how long you want to stay and what you will pay beyond admission. A cheaper ticket for an activity you did not want is a poor saving.
If you want the pool afternoon
Start on the official AURA pool-experience page. Its morning option currently describes a timed session, allocated seating and a towel, with food and drinks charged separately. Check the exact option you select: a dining experience and a pool session are not interchangeable.
Think about who is coming, how much shade you want and whether your budget includes lunch and drinks. Check age eligibility directly with the venue before booking for younger guests; do not infer it from a photograph of the setting. Leave travel time around the session instead of scheduling another paid attraction immediately afterwards.

If you mainly want the view
The View at The Palm sells observation experiences above Palm Jumeirah. Its official site distinguishes standard admission from additional experiences, including The Next Level and food or drink packages. Compare the inclusions rather than choosing from the photograph alone.
The Tiqets Level 52 listing below includes The View and the exhibit hall and aquarium tunnels. Read the selected ticket's refund conditions carefully: the page describes a refundable option at checkout rather than a blanket promise that every purchase is refundable.

You can also compare the official venue's current packages. The practical choice is whether you want an observation visit alone or a specific extra. Do not buy a bundle simply because the names sound similar.
Build the rest of the day around one booking
For a pool day, leave a clear block for the session, changing and a meal. Check the total for every guest before adding a second attraction. If all you want is a skyline photograph and some sightseeing, an observation visit may leave more room for other plans.
For an observation visit, choose your slot around the light you hope to see, then check the actual sunset time for your travel date. Sunset visibility depends on weather and haze; a ticket cannot guarantee the exact colours of a promotional picture. Leave a buffer for the journey and entry process.
Our recommendation is to avoid booking both experiences by default. Choose the one you care about first. Add the other only if the time and separate cost still make sense.

- Activity: pool access, observation admission or dining?
- Inclusions: exact level, seat, food, drink and transport, where relevant.
- Guest rules: age, access and any restrictions that affect your party.
- Changes: cancellation, refund and rescheduling terms for your selected option.
